At least one person has died following a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 15 in Apple Valley on Tuesday. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash occurred near mile marker 59 between Dale Evans Parkway and Hodge Road, shutting down all northbound lanes for approximately two hours.
Authorities said a Dodge Ram, a Nissan Pathfinder, and a Dodge truck hauling a trailer were all involved in the accident. An occupant in the Nissan was ejected during the collision and pronounced dead at the scene. High speeds are suspected as a contributing factor, police confirmed. The crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Barstow Division.
Multi-vehicle accidents are one of the most dangerous types of collisions, often resulting in serious injuries or fatalities. Injuries increase in number and severity with each vehicle and force of impact, often from multiple directions as additional vehicles become involved in the collision.
