Scott M. Rubel is our Managing Partner and practices exclusively in our Workers’ Compensation Department. He graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications in 1984. He received his Juris Doctor from The University of San Diego School of Law in 1988. Mr. Rubel is a Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation in accordance with the Rules of the California State Bar and has been representing injured workers for nearly 30 years. He serves on the Board of Directors of the California Applicants’ Attorneys Association and has served on that Board since 1994. Mr. Rubel teaches extensively in his field having conducted seminars for other workers’ compensation practitioners including attorneys, doctors, support staff, future practitioners and union representatives. He has conducted seminars in the areas of Medical-Legal Reporting, Discovery, Negotiation, General Workers’ Compensation Law, Trial Practice, Appellate Practice, Psychiatric Injury, Permanent Disability Rating, Sanctions and Penalties, and Workers’ Compensation Fraud. Mr. Rubel has also spent a great deal of time lobbying in the State Capitol for more effective workers’ compensation laws to benefit injured workers. Mr. Rubel is a zealous and tireless advocate always choosing strategies that will most benefit his clients.

Mr. Featherstone joined Lerner, Moore, Silva, Cunningham & Rubel in 2014. With more than 30 years of experience, he has served as a Pro Tem Workers Compensation Judge and taught Workers Compensation Law at UCR. Mr. Featherstone advises statewide groups for Law Enforcemnt and Fire Services on relevant legal matters. Mr. Featherstone is on the Arbitration Panel for the California Division of Workers Compensation.
